Prayer: This Civil Miscellaneous Appeal is filed under Section 173 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, against the judgment and decree dated 08.01.2020, made in M.C.O.P. No. 157 of 2017, on the file of the Sub-Court (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) Nagapattinam.

1. This appeal has been filed for enhancement of compensation granted by the award dated 08.01.2020, made in M.C.O.P. No. 157 of 2017, on the file of the Sub-Court (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) Nagapattinam.

2. The appellant-claimant filed M.C.O.P. No. 157 of 2017, on the file of the Sub-Court, (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) Nagapattinam, claiming a sum of Rs. 15,00,000/- as compensation for the injuries sustained by him in the accident that took place on 09.08.2016.

3. The Tribunal considering the pleadings, oral and documentary evidence, held that the accident occurred only due to rash and negligent riding by the 1st respondent, rider-cum-owner of the Motorcycle and directed the 2nd respondent, as insurer of the offending vehicle, to pay a sum of R
