The appellant Rendo @ Karamsingh Munda faced trial in the Court of learned Sessions Judge, Keonjhar in Sessions Trial No.106 of 2017 for commission of offences punishable under sections 498-A, 302 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code (hereafter ‘I.P.C.’) on the accusation that he being the husband of Tiki @ Tikili Munda (hereafter ‘the deceased’) subjected her to torture both physically and mentally, committed her murder on 28.04.2017 night and tied the saree of the deceased around her neck and hanged her from the roof beam of the room with an intention of screening himself from the legal punishment.
The learned trial Court vide impugned judgment and order dated 29.06.2019, though acquitted the appellant of the charges under sections 498-A and 302 of the I.P.C., but found him guilty under sections 304 Part-I and 201 of I.P.C. and sentenced him to undergo R.I. for ten years and to pay a fine of Rs.5000/- (rupees five thousand), in default, to undergo further R.I. for six months for the offence under section 304 Part-I of the I.P.C. and R.I. for two years and to pay a fine of Rs.2,000/- (rupees two thousand), in default, to undergo further R.I. for two months for t
