Judgment

AJAI LAMBA, J.

1. This is a petition under Sec.482 Cr. P. C. for issuing directions for concluding the trial in a criminal complaint case filed under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. It is pleaded that complaint was filed on 13.5.2002 and the respondents put in appearance on 10.2.2003. The trial is being delayed for no good reason. In support of the said argument, the interim orders have been placed on record, collectively, as Annexure P-1. It is further pointed out that provisions of Sec.143 of the Negotiable Instruments Act provide for conclusion of trial within six months of the filing of complaint. No evidence has been recorded till date. Direction is issued to the Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, chandigarh, to conclude the trial, preferably within six months from today. Disposed of.
