1. The appellant – Ram Singh has faced the trial in FIR No.232 dated 26.04.2000 for offence punishable under Sections 148, 149, 307, 323, 506, 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (in short 'IPC') and 25/54/59 of the Arms Act registered at Police Station Sadar, Hisar.
2. The appellant has filed the present appeal against the judgment of conviction dated 18.12.2004 and order of sentence dated 20.12.2004 passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court, Hisar vide which the appellant was convicted under Section 307 IPC and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 07 years and to pay a fine of Rs.2,500/- and in default of payment of fine to further undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 06 months. He was also convicted under Section 323 IPC and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 06 months and to pay a fine of Rs.500/- and in default of payment of fine to further undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 01 month.
