Heard learned counsel for petitioners and learned Standing
Counsel.
Petitioners are claiming that they have worked under a scheme
known as Shakshar Bharat, but they were not paid Honorarium
for the period from July, 2015 to January, 2018.
Learned counsel for petitioners submitted that similarly situated
persons have approached this Court wherein State Government
has come up with the case that as soon as they receive funds
from Central Government as the scheme was sponsored by
Central Government, payment will be made and in some of the
cases, some amount has been paid.
Learned Standing Counsel submits stand of State in the present
case is similar.
Considering the above submissions, this writ petition is
disposed of with direction that as soon as State Government
receives funds from Union of India and the petitioners, if
legally entitled for any Honorarium, same may be paid
expeditiously.
The respondents State is under obligation to take all endeavour
to get the funds from Central Government for the payment of
Honorarium to petitioners.
