The appellants are the claimants 1 and 2 in M.V.O.P.No.34 of 2016 on the file of the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal-cum-XV Additional District Judge, Nuziveedu and they filed the appeal for enhancement of compensation awarded by the Tribunal.

2. Both the parties in the appeal will be referred to as they are arrayed in the claim application.

3. The claimants filed a claim petition under Sections 166 and 140 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 against the respondents praying the Tribunal to award an amount of Rs.1,00,00,000/- towards compensation for the death of Thota Jagan Mohana Rao, in a motor vehicle accident that occurred on 18.05.2015.

4. Facts germane to dispose of this appeal may be briefly stated as follows:

On 18.05.2015 at about 9.15 p.m. when the deceased Thota Jagan Mohana Rao was proceeding on his motor cycle bearing No.AP 16 CQ 2248 along with his friend Praveen Kumar and when they reached near State Bank of India, Hanuman Junction, the driver of lorry bearing No.TN 52 C 1665, proceeding towards Eluru, drove the lorry in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against the motor cycle of the deceased, resulting which the
