The issue that has been highlighted in the present petition is with regard to the noise pollution on account of music events in private or religious events.
Learned counsel for the respondents states that with a view to control the noise pollution, the Government has since issued G.O.Ms.No.172 , dated 12.10.2010 whereunder the Commissioner of Police in Municipal Corporation area is the prescribed authority to implement the standards and rules within their jurisdiction in regard to noise levels.
The petitioners would be at liberty to bring to the notice of the concerned jurisdictional police officer in case there is any violation of the rules and regulations with regard to the permissible noise levels.
While bringing it to the notice of the police authorities, the directions which are otherwise issued by the Apex Court in Noise Pollution (VI), In re be also considered and implemented in letter and spirit.
The Writ Petition(PIL) is, accordingly, disposed of. No costs.
