ORDER:

This criminal revision case was filed by the wife under Sections 397 and 401 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (for short “Cr.P.C.”) against the order dated 08.07.2011 in Crl.R.P.No.16 of 2010 on the file of I Additional Sessions Judge, Srikakulam, whereby the learned Sessions Judge modified the order dated 08.02.2010 in M.C.No.40 of 2008 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Rajam reducing maintenance to Rs.5,000/- per month from Rs.30,000/- per month.

2. For the sake of convenience, the parties in this revision are referred to as they are arrayed in M.C.No.40 of 2008.

3. Petitioner (wife) filed M.C.No.40 of 2008 under Section 125 of Cr.P.C., seeking maintenance of Rs.45,000/- per month. In the petition, it was contended that the marriage between the petitioner and respondent was solemnized on 18.05.2006. At the time of marriage Rs.8 lakhs was given as dowry apart from other lanchanams. After the marriage, the respondent, his parents and sisters harassed the petitioner demanding to bring additional dowry.
