ORAL ORDER

Dt: 24.11.2021 (per Prashant Kumar Mishra, CJ)

In this writ petition in the nature of public interest litigation, the petitioner would raise the issue of non-implementation of Central Government Beneficiary Scheme i.e., Pradhana Manthri Awaas Yojana and Housing for All Urban (for short PMAY(U)) in the State of Andhra Pradesh; for construction of the affordable house units and delivery of possession thereof to the eligible beneficiaries.

2. Respondents have filed counter. Counter filed on behalf of respondent Nos.2 to 4 provided the details of the scheme and the status of houses nearing completion and the steps taken for implementing the entire scheme.

3. Thereafter, on 26.10.2021 we directed the Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department, A.P. Secretariat to file an affidavit stating the time frame within which the construction of all the houses shall be completed and allotment shall be made, in accordance with the provisions of the scheme, to the beneficiaries.

4. Mr. R. Karikal Valaven, Special Chief Secretary, to Government Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department (FAC), has filed affidavit dated 19.11.2021 providing the
