ORDER:
This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief:
“to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of writ of Mandamus to declare the action of respondent Nos.2 to 4 in opening the Suspect Sheet against the petitioner on the file of 4th respondent police station and continuing the same by extending every year without recording any reasons as arbitrary, illegal and contrary to Police Standing Order No.600 and consequently direct the respondent Nos.2 to 4 to close the Suspect Sheet pending against the petitioner in the 4th respondent police station”
It is the case of the petitioner that he was implicated in a crime registered under the Gamming Act. Based on registration of the said crime, police arrested him and opened suspect sheet. Thereafter, the petitioner has not been involved in any crime and the police did not close the suspect sheet opened against him despite request made by him. It is also contended that involvement in the alleged cricket betting is not covered by any of the clause in Standing Order No.600 or 601 of the Andhra Pradesh Police Manual and requested to set aside the same directing
