A contempt case is closed when the petitioner acknowledges that the court's previous order has been complied with, specifically through the payment of the awarded amount.

Headnote:(A) Contempt of Court - Compliance of Order - When the order of the court in the underlying writ petition has been complied with and the payment of the bill amount has been verified, the contempt proceedings are liable to be closed. (Para 2, 3)

Issues: Whether the contempt case should be closed in view of the compliance of the court's order.

The Court made the following:

ORDER:

The contempt case is filed under Sections 10 to 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to punish the respondents for willful violation of the order of this Court dated 30.12.2024 passed in W.P.No.26430 of 2024.

The learned counsel for the petitioner requested to close the contempt case stating that no order is required in this contempt case since the order of this Court in the writ petition had been complied with.

A copy of written instructions of the respondent No.4 vide Letter No.AB/Supdt/EC-1/A/B-1/287 m, dated 08.04.2026 was placed on record, reporting payment of bill amount of Rs.12,02,244/- vide RBI bill No.XUTR/ RBISH00458211025, dated 23.03.2026.

Hence, the contempt case is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this contempt case shall stand closed.
