CRIMINAL PETITION NO.277 OF 2025 ORDER:-

This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, has been filed by the petitioner/A1, seeking regular bail, in Crime No.87 of 2024 of Salur Rural Police Station, Parvathipuram District, registered for the offence punishable under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) read with 8(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for short ‘the NDPS Act’).

Case of the prosecution, in brief, is that, on 08.08.2024, on receipt of credible information, the Sub-Inspector of Police, along with his staff and mediators, rushed to Baguvalasa village and found the accused in possession of 87.29Kgs of Ganja. The contraband along with other material was seized under the cover of mediators report.

4. Petitioner herein was arrested on 08.08.2024 and since then he has been languishing in jail. The quantity of Ganja allegedly seized from the possession of the accused is 87.29Kgs. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor submitted that investigation has been completed and the charge sheet could not be filed for want of inventory and there are no antecedents against the petitioner herein.
