CRIMINAL PETITION NO.793 OF 2025

ORDER :

This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, has been filed by the petitioner/A1, seeking regular bail, in Crime No.202 of 2024 of Sabbavaram Police Station, Anakapalli.

2. A case has been registered against the petitioner herein and others for the offence punishable under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) read with 8(c), 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for short ‘the NDPS Act’).

3. Case of the prosecution is that, on 24.09.2024, on receipt of credible information about the illegal transportation of ganja, the Sub-Inspector of Police along with his staff and mediators rushed to Sabbavaram-Kothavalasa R & B Tar Road, Gullepalli Junction, Sabbavaram Mandal, and started conducting vehicle checking and found one lorry bearing AP-31-TA-4789 transporting the ganja. The SI of Police with the assistance of his staff apprehended the accused along with the lorry and found 912Kgs of Ganja in their possession. The contraband along with other materials were seized under the cover of mediator report.
