JUDGMENT :-
The challenge in this appeal is to the
judgment of conviction and order of sentence dated
15.06.2002 passed by the Special Court, Dhule, in
Special Case No.74 of 1997. By the impugned judgment
and order, the appellant came to be convicted of the
offence punishable under Sections 7 and 13(1)(d) read
with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act,
1988 (for short, “P.C.Act”) and sentenced to suffer

rigorous imprisonment for one year with fine of
Rs.500/- and rigorous imprisonment for two years with
fine of Rs.1,000/-, respectively. He is, therefore,
in appeal before this Court.
