1. The purported affidavit-of-compliance filed by the alleged contemnor and exception thereto are kept on record.
2. This case is a burning example of utter callousness and apathy on the part of the Administration, particularly, the present alleged contemnor, who is Dr. Swapan Saren, Director of Health Services, Department of Health, Government of West Bengal.
3. By a judgment dated August 21, 2023 passed in WPA No. 21887 of 2022 filed by the present petitioners, the unfortunate heirs of late Sachipati Ghatak, who was an ambulance driver engaged with the respondents in the writ petition, it was observed that the poor wife of the deceased employee had started a family marathon from pillar to post from the year 1983, seeking, first, compassionate appointment and then the death benefits of the said employee.
