The judgment affirms the necessity of police intervention to maintain community peace while addressing individual rights.

To that effect, there were incidents which flared up and it has also been admitted by the State that at the relevant point of time when the incidents took place, police picket was deployed.

According to the State, number of General Diary Entries and proceedings under Section 126 of the BNSS were drawn up to maintain peace and tranquility. For a period of almost 11 months, steps were taken by the police authorities.

Having regard to the nature of the dispute complained of, for the next six months, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer would call for a weekly report from the concerned police station as to whether there is any scope and/or possibility of repeated incident relating to the community as referred to in the writ petition.

In case, any information is received, abundant precaution and/or deployment of police force be reinforced to maintain law and order.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 11049 of 2025 is disposed of.
