1. The petitioner alleges non-payment of dues by the Purulia Municipality. It is submitted that despite successful completion of work, payment has not been released, and that several representations seeking release of payment are pending consideration at the end of the municipality.

2. Learned counsel for the municipality submits that he has no instructions in this matter. He prays for accommodation.

3. As it appears that the demand seeking payment made by the petitioner is pending consideration at the end of the municipality, accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Chairman of the Purulia Municipality, the eighth respondent herein, to take into consideration the petitioner’s demand for release of payment in respect of the work done pursuant to the work order being memo no.2098(MGP) dated January 18, 2017 issued by the Chairman of the Purulia Municipality, after giving a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner for production of necessary documents in support of the claim, in accordance with law, at the earliest but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order.

4. If any amount is found due and payable, steps shall be taken for releasing the same without any further delay.

5. Learned counsel for the petitioner shall forward a copy of the demand and all other supporting documents to the said respondent at the time of communicating this order.

6. All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court.

7. Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties.
