1. Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

2. Petitioner participated in the selection process for being appointed as Constable (G.D.) under Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

3. Petitioner qualified in written test and physical standard test but in review medical examination which was held on 19^th November, 2025, petitioner was declared unfit since it was found petitioner was having poor oral hygiene, periodontitis and 13 dental

4. Mr. Kundu, learned advocate representing the petitioner does not dispute the review medical examination report dated 19^th December, 2025 to the extent it was pointed out that petitioner is having

It is submitted by the learned advocate representing the petitioner that presence of crown and bridges is not fatal so far oral condition of the petitioner is concerned and as per relevant provisions of Guidelines for Recruitment Medical Examination in Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles as revised in May, 2015 mere presence of crown and bridges also do not disqualify a candidate.

6. For better understanding the issue involved in this writ petition, Court finds it apt to quote Clause 9(III)

“9. DETAILED MEDICAL EXAMINATION III. DENTAL EXAMINATION:

1. General Consideration:

a)The acceptance or rejection of a candidate on account of loss or decay of teeth will depend on the relative positions of the sound teeth.

b) A candidate must have sufficient number of natural teeth to enable him to masticate efficiently and on no account will be accepted, if he/she requires artificial dentures for efficient mastication (i.e., artificial fixed denture replacing any molar).

c)In order to assess whether a candidate has a sufficient number of teeth to masticate efficiently, the following guidelines will be taken into consideration for calculation of Dental points:-”

It is provided under Clause 9(III)(1)(b) that a candidate must have sufficient number of natural teeth to enable him to masticate efficiently and on no account will be accepted, if he/she requires artificial dentures for efficient mastication (i.e., artificial fixed denture replacing any molar).

8. In review medical examination report dated 19^th November, 2025 it is disclosed that petitioner is having 13 dental points with crown and bridges.

9. Therefore, it can be inferred that it is a case where candidate requires artificial dentures.

10. Hence, no relief can be granted to the petitioner.

11. Writ petition stands dismissed.

12. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
