Petitioners are an organization namely, Madrasah Teachers Association Represented by their President and the petitioner no. 2 is a member of the said organization/teacher. They applied before the administration for a sit-in demonstration. However, they have received a communication from the Joint Commissioner of Police Headquarters for such sit-in demonstration for 50 participants.

Mr. Firdous Shamim appearing for the petitioner prayed for 10 day’s continuous sit-in demonstration, on the other hand, Mr. Basu Mallick opposed the same and submitted that only one day demonstration has been allowed.

Since the petitioners had applied earlier and their demonstration was stalled pursuant to the request made by this court, I direct that the petitioners may be allowed to hold their sit-in demonstration at College Square facing Bankim Chatterjee Street between 11
