1. The instant appeal has been directed against the judgment and order of conviction passed by the learned Judge, Special Court (E.C.) Act, Hooghly in connection with case being No. 199/85, whereby and where under this appellant was convicted for commission of offence punishable under Section 7(1)(a)(ii) of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 for violation of Para 3 of the West Bengal Pulses, Edible Oilseeds and Edible Oil (Dealers Liscencing) Order, 1978 and sentenced him to suffer rigorous imprisonment for one year and also to pay fine of Rs. 1000/- in default thereof to suffer further rigorous imprisonment for three months.
