The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that in spite of his complaint being registered, pursuant to which Baguiati P.S. Case No. 709 of 2024 being registered, he is being threatened at the behest of the private respondents.

The petitioner, to that effect, made a representation to the Commissioner of Police. However, no action has been taken till date.

Learned advocate for the State submits that the respondent no.5 has already been arrested in connection with the case registered by the Baguiati P.S.

Since the petitioner has expressed apprehension and insecurity as a witness to the case, in the fitness of circumstances, the petitioner, if so advised, would take out an application before the learned CJM, Barasat. The learned Magistrate would call for a threat perception report, thereafter, on an assessment of the report, pass necessary directions under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 5841 of 2025 is disposed of. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.
