Learned counsel appearing for the private respondent no.4 submits that the petitioner is not an occupant of the property and, therefore, cannot be termed as a tenant.
Even without delving into the merits of the petitioner’s status with respect to the property, the petitioner, as an occupant, is entitled under Section 43 of the Electricity Act, 2003 as depicted in the report filed by the CESC, to get new electricity supply irrespective of the objection raised by the landlord/owner.
