The common controversy involved in all the present

original applications is grant of age relaxation for

recruitment to three post(s), namely, (I) Head Constable

(Ministerial), (II) Head Constable (AOW) and (III) Constable

(Driver) in Delhi Police Examination, 2022.

With the consent of learned counsel for the respective

parties, all cases are taken up for adjudication and hearing

together. The cases are being disposed off by a common

judgment involving more or less identical issues.

Constable (Ministerial),

OA No.1789/2022, OA No.1890/2022,

(III) OA No.1944/2022, OA No. 533/2022 pertained to

post of Head Constable (AOW).

OA No.1624/2022 is being taken up as a lead case.

In the above two categories of posts, i.e. (I and II) brief

facts are that the applicants had applied for recruitment to

the posts of Head Constables (Ministerial) [HC (Min.)],

which was initiated in the year 2019 and had submitted the

requisite fee too. However, the selection examination was
