By this OA, the applicants sought the following relief:

“……to call for the records with regard to the recruitment process in pursuance of the notification published in the employment news dated: 21- 27, June, 2015, and declare the said process upto and including the preparation of select list as irrational, arbitrary, violative of principles of Reservation and Article 14, 16, and 21 of the constitution of India, and by quashing and set aside the same direct the Respondents to shortlist the candidates for written test notionally by considering the meritorious candidates against the general vacancies irrespective of their community and redraw the select list for the recruitment of the post of Tradesman Mate (erstwhile Multi Tasking Staff) (Industrial) and pass such other order or orders may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case.”
