However, upon reporting at the designated time and venue, the applicants were orally informed by the respondents that their PE&MT would not be conducted solely on the ground that they had retired from the Armed Forces more than two years prior to the closing date of receipt of online applications, i.e., 07.09.2020. It is submitted that the applicants, at the time of applying, had disclosed their correct date of retirement and their applications were accepted by the respondents, and they were permitted to appear in the written examination. Furthermore, as per Para 5.1 of the official advertisement, the age of Ex-Servicemen applicants is to be determined by deducting the period of military service rendered from their actual age as on the date of reckoning.
