The facts and issue raised in these OAs being similar, we propose to dispose of them by this common order.

Highlighting the facts of the case in OA No. 4218/2016, learned counsel for the applicant submits that the candidature of the applicant was rejected on the ground of lack of essential qualification. He draws attention to the corrigendum/addendum (Annexure A-3) issued by the Staff Selection Commission in respect of the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2014, which clarifies the requisite qualifications. 2.1 The principal issue for consideration is whether the applicant had studied Statistics as one of the subjects. In support of his contention, learned counsel relies upon the mark sheets of the applicant to demonstrate that the applicant had studied Communication Engineering as one of the subjects. The said marksheet (page 88) reads as under:-

2.2 Learned counsel for the applicant contends that that Communication Engineering is a subject falling within the domain of Statistics, and therefore, the applicant satisfies the essential qualification prescribed. In support of the said contention the clarification regarding subject of Statics received by the Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak (Annexure A-10) reads as under:-
