Headnote:The petitioner filed a petition under Section 79(1) of the Electricity Act, 2003, and Regulation 36(3) of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions of Tariff) Regulations, 2024, seeking approval for additional Operation and Maintenance (O&M) expenses for the establishment of a Centralized Security Operation Centre (OT SOC) for substations. The petitioner sought reimbursement of estimated expenses and interest on working capital. The primary issue was whether the petitioner could withdraw the petition with liberty to file a fresh one due to subsequent developments and whether the filing fees could be adjusted. The court observed that the petitioner's counsel requested withdrawal and fee adjustment, which the commission found acceptable. Accordingly, Petition No. 277/MP/2026 is disposed of as withdrawn.

ORDER

The present Petition has been filed by the Petitioner, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, seeking the following reliefs:

“(a) Approve additional O&M expenses of estimated Rs. 233.96 crore (subject to actuals) for the establishment of Centralized Security Operations Centre for Substations;

(b) Allow the Petitioner to bill the above additional O&M expenses along with the Interest on Working Capital;

(d) Pass such other order(s) as this Commission deems fit and appropriate under the circumstances of the case.”

The learned counsel for the Petitioner mentioned the matter on 29.6.2026 and submitted that the instant Petition was filed on 30.4.2026, which is yet to be listed for hearing. The learned counsel further sought to withdraw the present Petition with liberty to file a fresh Petition due to subsequent developments in the matter. The learned counsel prayed to adjust the filing fees paid in the instant Petition against the fresh Petition to be filed in the matter.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the Petitioner, the Petitioner is permitted to withdraw the present Petition. The filing fees paid by the Petitioner in the present Petition shall be adjusted against the Petition to be filed by the Petitioner in the future.

Accordingly, Petition No. 277/MP/2026 is disposed of as withdrawn.
