The work was settled to be done at Rs.1000/- instead of Rs.2000/-. The appellant asked the complainant to pay Rs.500/- as first instalment on 06.06.2002.

2.2 The complainant was not inclined to offer bribe to him, therefore, she made a complaint against him before the Lokayukt Raipur who on 04.06.2002 gave her a micro cassette tape and asked her to record the conversion regarding demand of bribe between appellant and herself. The complainant submitted the micro cassette tape on 05.06.2002, which was converted into script and an offence u/s 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act (for short PC Act) has been registered.
