IN THE HIGH COURT OF CHHATTISGARH AT BILASPUR
Ramesh Sinha, CJ, Bibhu Datta Guru, J
Satyanand Singh – Appellant
Versus
State of Chhattisgarh – Respondent
CRMP No. 1650 of 2022

Advocates:
For the Appellants/Petitioners: None
For the Respondents: Mr. Malay Jain, Mr. Achyut Tiwari

The court may dismiss a petition when the petitioners show a lack of interest in pursuing the matter.

Headnote:This judgment pertains to the dismissal of a petition to quash a First Information Report under the assertion that the petitioners have lost interest in pursuing the matter due to the efflux of time. The court found that charges were already framed against the petitioners and the trial was in progress, indicating the futility of the petition at this stage. The court ruled that the dismissal was appropriate given the circumstances and lack of representation by the petitioners.

Table of Content
1. no representation by petitioners leading to dismissal. (Para 1 , 2 , 3)
2. charges framed; trial ongoing negates the need for quashing. (Para 4 , 5)
3. final dismissal of the petition established. (Para 6)

Per Ramesh Sinha , Chief Justice
