Though the present PIL was directed to be listed on 20/01/2026, but a news report has been published today i.e. 26/11/2025 in The Times of India with a heading that “Child tied to rope, hung from tree over homework” , the same has been taken up for hearing today. In the said news report, it has been reported that a horrific case of corporal punishment emerged from Chhattisgarh's Surajpur on Monday, after a four-year-old LKG student was tied to a rope and hung from a tree. The incident was reported from Narayanpur village, when two female teachers of a private school punished the child for allegedly not completing hishomework. The incident came to light after a video went viral on social media, triggering outrage and forcing the Education department to launch an urgent inquiry. The teachers, identified as Kajal Sahu and Anuradha Dewangan, were purportedly seen in the viral video tying a rope to the child's shirt, and hanging him from a tree inside the school premises.
