1. Heard Ms. Prachi Singh, learned counsel for the applicants on I.A. No.01, which is an application for condonation of delay of 1967 days in preferring the instant criminal revision.

Ms. Prachi Singh, learned counsel for the applicants submits that the present revision has been filed against the order dated 12-03-2020 (Annexure A-1) passed by the learned Family Court, Balodabazar. Owing to circumstances wholly beyond the control of the applicants, the revision could not be filed within the period of limitation. It is submitted that applicant No.1 is a rural lady of limited educational background, having no understanding of legal procedure or limitation requirements. She was entirely dependent upon her counsel before the Family Court for necessary information regarding further legal steps. Due to the lack of proper guidance at that stage, she remained unaware of the appropriate remedy and time prescribed for filing a revision before this Court.

Ms. Singh further submits that immediately after coming to know about the impugned order, applicant No.1 intended to take steps for filing the revision; however, she was suffering from a severe uterus infection. She remained under continuous medical treatment at Kishori Hospital, as evidenced from Annexure A-2. Her last recorded treatment was on 04-09-2025, which clearly covers the period during which the delay occurred. Due to the said serious medical condition, the physical capacity of applicant No.1 deteriorated substantially, and her weight reduced to approximately 45 kgs. She remained completely incapacitated to attend to legal matters or even approach counsel for filing the present revision. Her condition rendered her bedridden and dependent on others even for daily activities.

It is further submitted by Ms. Singh that applicant No.1 being a rural and illiterate lady, combined with her health condition, could not gather the mental or physical ability to initiate the process of filing a revision. Only after recovering to some extent and after consulting a counsel at the High Court, she was duly advised to file the present revision, and the same was done without any further delay. She submits that the delay in filing the revision is bona fide, sufficiently explained, and supported by medical documents. There is no element of delib
