1. This Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed for the followings reliefs:-
"10.1)That, the Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent authorities to call the entire records pertaining to the case.
10.2) That, the Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to issue an appropriate writ by directing the respondents to issue character certificate in favour of the petitioner, in the light of order dated 22.09.2022 passed in CRMP No.1747/2018 within stipulated time.
10.3) Any other relief(s) which this Hon'ble Court may think fit proper in view of the facts and circumstances of the case may also be granted."

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has filed application dated 26.12.2025 (Annexure-P/6) before the Regional Transport Officer, Durg (CG) seeking permission to establish Regional Driving Training Center at Durg, for which, character certificate is also required, hence the petitioner has moved an application before Superintendent of Police, Durg on 07.02.2025 (Annexure-P/2) for issuance of character certificate. Subsequently, the Superintendent of Police, Durg has directed In-charge Special Cell Durg, Station House Officer Jamul and Mahila Thana, Durg on 04.12.2025 (Annexure-P/4) to examine the application of the petitioner in pursuance order passed in CRMP No.1747/2018 and CRMP No.422/2020, whereby, FIR and charge-sheet registered against the petitioner was quashed. In the letter Annexure-P/4 it was further directed to decide the application and take appropriate steps after examination as above. Counsel submits that despite lapse of 3 months, the character certificate has not been issued by the respondents/Authorities. Moreover, the petitioner has also made reminder communication on 20.12.2025 (Annexure-P/5) through Gmail to the concerned Superintendent of Police but of no avail. Hence, at this stage, this petition may be disposed of directing Superintendent of Police, Durg (respondent No.2) to decide the application (Annexure-P/2) of the petitioner and issue character certificate to the petitioner in accordance with law.
3. Learned State counsel submits that the application of the petitioner shall be decided in accordance with law.
4. Having considered the submissions of the learned counsel for the parties and further considering the limited prayer of the petitioner, and also keeping in view the fact that the application dated 07.02.2025 (Annexure-P/2) for issuance of a character certificate is pending for more than 3 months and the grievance of the petitioner has not been redressed, this petition is disposed of at this stage with a direction to respondent No. 2 - Superintendent of Police, Durg to decide the application of the petitioner (Annexure-P/2) in accordance with law. Further, if no impediment is found on the part of the petitioner under the law, then the said certificate shall be issued to the petitioner by following the due procedure.
