1. The issue under consideration arising out of the second appeal dated 02.06.2020. include non-receipt of the following information sought by the appellant through the RTI application dated 12.09.2019 and first appeal dated 05.11.2019 :-
The applicant seeks the following information from the captioned account under:-
(i) “Complete up to date statement of Saving Bank A/c No. xxxxxxxx8602 of Late Shri Moni Baba.
(ii) FDRs/TDRs made of the amounts drawn from this account along with the name of the beneficiaries and the period of FDRs/TDRs and their status.
(iii) Action taken by the bank on the letter of request dated 2.0.2019 sent by the applicant through e-,ail – 040500@pnb.co.on.”

Succinctly facts of the case are that the appellant filed an application dated 12.09.2019 under the Right to Information Act, 2005 (RTI Act) before the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO), Punjab National Bank, Rohtak, seeking aforesaid information. The CPIO vide letter dated 26.09.2019 replied to the appellant. Aggrieved by the same, the appellant filed first appeal dated 05.11.2019. The First Appellate Authority (FAA) vide order dated 05.12.2019 disposed of the first appeal. Aggrieved by that, the appellant filed second appeal dated 02.06.2020 before the Commission which is under consideration.
3. The appellant has filed the instant appeal dated 02.06.2020 inter alia on the grounds that reply given by the CPIO was not satisfactory. The appellant requested the Commission to direct the CPIO to provide the complete information and take necessary action as per Section 20 (1) of the RTI Act.
4. The CPIO replied vide letter dated 26.9.2019 and the same is reproduced as under :-
“1. Complete up to date statement of saving bank a/c no. xxxxxxx98602 of late Sh. Moni Baba is enclosed.
2. FDR for Rs. 23 lac was made by Shri Moni Baba on 13.06.2019 for 6 months and payment was made to nominee Shri Thaneshwar on 01/09/2019 after the death of a/c holder.
3. Branch has not received any mail from your side. Given mail address of the branch is wrong.”
The FAA vide order dated 05.12.2019 provided the information which is reproduced as under:
“Point no. 2) Statement of saving a/c xxxxx00398602 is attached.
3) Branch had not received any mail, because correct mail id is bo0405@pnb.co.in
4) in FDR 040500PU00042950, nominee Shri Thaneshwar, so FDR amount was credited in his a/c.”
5. The appellant as well as respondent remained absent despite notice.

The Commission after adverting to the facts and circumstances of the case, and perusal of records, observed that due reply was given by the CPIO as well as by the FAA vide letters dated 26.9.2019 and 05.12.2019, respectively. Further, both parties remained absent despite written notices having been served upon both of them. Therefore, the matter not being pressed for, there appears to be no public interest in prolonging the matter further. Accordingly, the appeal is dismissed.
