O R D E R

1. The appellant filed an application under the Right to Information Act, 2005 (RTI Act) before the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO)The New India Assurance Company Limited, Mumbai.The appellant seeking information is as under:-

“Please provide following information under RTI Act with regard to reimbursement of mediclaim lodged under CCN MD14385265 MD Id No. MD15-0032961113, IC CLAIM NUMBER: TP00512070018900090781 under policy no.

120700/34/18/04/00000003:-

1. Provide the datewise & official wise information that how many total number of emails received from email id bs.rana@icindia.com by Ms. Sonu Mahato, MDI (TPA), Ms. Deepti Pawar & Sh. Sanjay Paigankar for my mediclaim.

2. How many reverted to my email id by all three official, please provide datewise summary etc.

2. As the CPIO had not provided the requested information, the appellant filed the first appeal dated 25.08.2019 requesting that the information should be provided to him. The first appellate authority upholds CPIO’s reply and disposed of his first appeal vide FAO 16.09.2019. He filed a second appeal u/Section 19(3) of the RTI Act before the Commission on the ground that information has not been provided to him and requested the Commission to direct the respondent to provide complete and correct information.

Hearing:

3. The appellant attended the hearing through audio-call. The respondent, Ms. Sanik Masurkar, CPIO along with Mr. Sanjay attended the hearing through audio-call.

4. The appellant reiterated the contents of the RTI Application and submitted that complete and correct information has not been provided to him by the respondent. He insisted for information on point nos. 6 to 9 more specifically.

5. Shri Sanjay submitted that vide their letter dated 07.08.2019, they have provided an appropriate reply to the Appellant as per available records.

Decision:

The Commission, after hearing the submissions of both the parties and after perusal of records, observes that the appellant has generally sought clarifications in these points of the instant RTI Application and has sought documents at point no. 9 of the RTI Application. The Commission further observes that the desired information with respect to the aforesaid point has not been provided by the Respondent. The Respondent has given clarifications on other points also

7. In the light of the above observations, the Commission deems it fit, to direct the Respondent to provide a revised reply with respect to point no. 9 of the RTI Application. A copy of the note sheets regarding acceptance/rejection of the said mediclaim amount should also be provided to him free of cost. While doing so, the Respondent is free to redact/blacken the details of the concerned officials, if any, from the said document, if it deems necessary. The aforesaid direction should be complied within 15 days from the date of receipt of this order.

8. With the above observations, the appeal is disposed of.

9. Copy of the decision be provided free of cost to the parties.
