Headnote:(A) Right to Information Act, 2005 - Section 8 and Section 10 - Disclosure of information - Inspection of records - Where the information sought by the appellant pertains to enforcement action against unauthorized constructions and the appellant expresses dissatisfaction with the generalized nature of the CPIO's replies, the Commission may direct the Public Authority to facilitate inspection of relevant files and records to ensure transparency and justice. Facts of the case:
The appellant sought information regarding action taken against unauthorized construction on specific plots in Delhi, questioning the contradictory claims made by municipal authorities before judicial fora. The respondent maintained that the area in question was declared a development area under the control of Delhi Development Authority, thus limiting its own jurisdiction. The appellant, dissatisfied with the responses, appeared before the Commission seeking file inspection.

Findings of Court:
The Commission found the respondent’s initial replies incomplete and vague. Consequently, it directed the respondent to facilitate an inspection of the relevant files and records by the appellant after providing a detailed list of available documentation.

Issues: Whether the appellant is entitled to inspect the official records to verify the actions taken against alleged unauthorized constructions when the Public Authority claims lack of jurisdiction.
