Relevant facts emerging from Second Appeal/Complaint:

Information sought:

1. The Appellant filed an RTI application dated 30/06/2025 before the CPIO, Employees Provident Fund Organisation, Mumbai seeking the following information:

“1. Kindly indicate period i.e. number of years EPFO maintains member related information including contributions, claims and withdrawals. Is the period different for establishments which are PF: UNEXEMPTED, PENSION: UNEXEMPTED and now their Working Status is CLOSED/ALL MEMBER EXCLUDED. Is the period different if the records were maintained manually ie not computerized/digitized?

2. Kindly furnish following information pertaining to Establishment ID MHBAN001596600A, PF account no. MH/15966-A/245.

a) Date of Joining and Exit

b) Provident Fund Contribution, Interest Credited, Claims if any along with settlement status, Date and Amount

c) Family Pension Scheme Contribution, Interest Credited, Claims if any along with claim settlement status, Date and Amount

d) Current status of account

e) Pensionable Service corresponding to service period of this account

3. Kindly furnish following information pertaining to Establishment ID KDMAL001596600G, PF account no. MH/15966-G/27.

a) Date of Joining and Exit

b) Provident Fund Contribution, Interest Credited, Claims if any along with settlement status, Date and Amount

c) Family Pension Scheme Contribution, Interest Credited, Claims if any along with claim settlement status, Date and Amount

d) Current status of account

e) Pensionable Service corresponding to service period of this account.”

2. The CPIO has not furnished any reply to the appellant as per record.

3. Aggrieved and dissatisfied, the appellant filed the First Appeal with the first Appellate Authority. The First Appellate Authority order is not on record.

4. Being aggrieved, the Appellant filed the Instant Second Appeal on 29/09/2025.

The Appellant vide letter dated 13/07/2026 withdrew his second appeal stating,

“Subject: Request for withdrawal of Second Appeal – File No. CIC/EPFOG/A/2025/645633

Respected Sir/Madam,

I have filed the second appeal under reference against the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), which is currently scheduled for a hearing. I wish to inform the Hon’ble Commission that subsequent to the filing of this second appeal, the First Appellate Authority (FAA) responded to my grievance. Consequently, through follow-up actions over the past year, I have received information requested in my original RTI application in parts. AnnexureK is the latest artifact received on 19-June-2026. It addresses Question 3e of my RTI application and is attached along with. Since the core grievance of my RTI application stands fully redressed, the scheduled hearing is no longer required. I respectfully request the Hon’ble Commission to treat this Second Appeal as withdrawn and closed, and to condone my absence from the upcoming hearing.
