1. The petitioner has approached this Court assailing the order dated

22.10.2020 passed by the learned Authority under the Minimum

Wages Act. Vide the impugned order, the Learned Authority after

holding that the respondents were entitled to receive minimum wages

of skilled workmen, has directed the petitioners to pay the differential

amount for the period between 01.10.2016 to 31.10.2018 along with

an equivalent amount by way of compensation.

2. The primary submission of learned counsel for the petitioner is that

the learned Authority has, without any basis, treated the respondents/

workmen who are working as Lift Operators as skilled workmen and

thereby directed that they be paid the minimum wages of skilled

workmen.

He submits that the respondents are in fact unskilled

workmen and could not have been compared with the Lift Operators
