CORAM:

HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE PURUSHAINDRA KUMAR KAURAV

O R D E R

% 13.01.2026

1. The facts of the case would indicate that the petitioner’s application for re-issuance of her Overseas Citizen of India (‘OCI’) Card has been rejected by the impugned order passed by the respondent no. 2 on the ground of ancestral links with Pakistan.

2. The facts would further indicate that the petitioner had an OCI Card and no cancellation proceedings under Section 7D of the Citizenship Act, 1985, have been initiated. A bare perusal of the impugned order dated 24.06.2021, would also indicate that the concerned authority has not bestowed its consideration to the facts and circumstances of the instant case. 3. Under these circumstances, the Court calls upon learned counsel for respondent nos. 2 and 3 to take instructions, as to whether the cases of the petitioners can be reconsidered.

4. Accordingly, to enable learned counsel for respondent nos. 1 and 2 to take instructions, list on 20.04.2026.

PURUSHAINDRA KUMAR KAURAV, J JANUARY 13, 2026 aks/ksr
