3. The present petition has been filed by the petitioners, who are the parents of a six-month-old child. Petitioner Nos. 1 and 2 are husband and wife. In 2016–17, they went to Australia for employment, and subsequently, on 08.01.2022, their marriage was solemnized in India. They again went to Australia to resume their employment/work and surrendered their Indian citizenship, acquiring
Australian citizenship in 2023.
4. Subsequently, OCI, i.e., Overseas Citizen of India, cards were issued to them. They were blessed with a male child, i.e., Petitioner No. 3, on 10.07.2025 in Australia. A birth certificate dated 21.08.2025 was also issued by the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages,
State of New South Wales, Commonwealth of Australia, in respect of the child.
