CRL.REV.P.(NI) 24/2026 & CRL.M.A. 3324/2026 (seeking stay of operation of impugned judgment and order on sentence)

1. The matter pertains to a cheque of Rs.5,41,246/- which was, allegedly, issued by the petitioner herein.

2. Since the abovesaid cheque returned dishonoured, a complaint was filed against him under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, which resulted in conviction. The petitioner was sentenced to SI for a period of three months and was also directed to make payment of compensation of Rs.7,41,000/-, in default to undergo SI for two months.
