% 02.02.2026 CRL.M.(BAIL) 207/2026 (suspension of sentence
1. The captioned appeal is directed against the judgment dated 16.08.2024 passed by the learned Sessions Court, whereby the appellant [applicant herein] was convicted for offences punishable under Sections 307/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 [“IPC”], and the subsequent order on sentence dated 15.11.2025, by which the appellant was sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of two years and to pay a fine of Rs.30,000/-.
2. The appeal was admitted by order dated 08.01.2026; however, the sentence could not be suspended at that stage, as no application seeking suspension of sentence had been filed.
3. By way of the present application, the applicant seeks suspension of sentence during the pendency of the appeal.
4. It may be noted that the learned Sessions Court had initially suspended the sentence for a period of 30 days vide
