CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SACHIN DATTA

O R D E R

% 20.01.2026

1. The present petitions allege wilful disobedience of the directions contained in the order dated 09.07.2025, passed in W.P.(C) 8787/2025, whereby the respondents have been directed to issue the required Land Status Report (LSR) / No objection Certificates (NOCs) to the petitioner.

2. It is submitted by learned counsel for the respondents during the course of hearing that due to an intervening change in the regulatory regime, LSRs / NOCs are no longer required as a pre-condition for the registration of any sale deed, including the sale deeds sought to be executed by the petitioners. As such, the requirement for furnishing of the LSR / NOC as a pre-condition for registration of sale dees in respect of the properties in question is obviated.

3. It also transpires during the course of hearing that certain deficiency memo / objections have been raised by the concerned Sub-Registrar as a pre-condition for registration.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the objections sought to be raised are wholly superfluous inasmuch as unnecessary documents have been sought by the concerned Sub-Registrar.

5. It is pointed out that in respect of other sale deeds concerning the same petitioners, no objections / deficiency memos were issued by the Sub-

Registrar.

6. In the circumstances, the petitioners are required to approach the concerned Registrar for the purpose of registration of the concerned sale deeds.

7. The Registrar shall make an endeavour to facilitate the process without raising any unnecessary objections or asking for documents which are not mandatorily required to be submitted as a pre-condition for registration of sale deeds.

8. The Registrar shall take note of the precedents cited by the petitioner whereby registration was allowed without objection/s of the kind sought to be raised in the present case.

9. List for reporting compliance on 06.05.2026.

10. In case the concerned sale deeds are not registered, the concerned Sub-Registrar shall join the proceedings virtually on the next date of hearing.

SACHIN DATTA, J JANUARY 20, 2026/cl
