1. The present writ petition has been filed on behalf of the petitioner, seeking directions against the respondent-Election Commission of India (“ECI”), in relation to the approval of name and registration of petitioner‟s political party under Section 29A of the Representation of People Act, 1951 (“People‟s Act”).
2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had initially submitted an application on 14th February, 2025 for registration of a political party in the name of „Tamilaga Needhi Katchi‟. The said application was complete in all aspects and in compliance with the statutory requirements.
