By way of the present application, the applicant/appellant is seeking suspension of sentence, till the disposal of the present criminal appeal, awarded to him vide judgment dated 12.02.2025 and order on sentence dated 06.03.2025, passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge-01, Special Court (POCSO), South District, Saket Courts, Delhi whereby the applicant/appellant stands convicted in case arising out of FIR bearing no. 502/2023, registered at Police Station Ambedkar Nagar, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Section 307 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter ‘IPC’). The applicant/appellant herein has been sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of five years and to pay a fine of Rs.10,000/-, and in default of payment of fine, to further undergo simple imprisonment for a period of six months.
