None appears for the petitioners as well as the respondent No. 3, even on second call. However, Ms. Dimpi Musahary, learned standing counsel, Secondary Education Department, appears on behalf of respondents No. 1 & 2.

The petitioners by way of instituting the present writ petition, have raised a grievance with regard to non-regularization of their services. The petitioners as projected in this petition, were appointed on various dates on honorary basis by the School Management Committees of their respective schools against Grade-IV posts and it is contended that they are so working since the dates of their initial appointments. The petitioners have been approaching the respondent authorities for initiation of steps for regularization of their services.

It is seen that the petitioners’ initial appointments were not so made pursuant to the prescribed process for recruitment. It has been stated in the Bar that presently, Grade-IV posts available in the provincialized schools in the State, is to be filled-up through the Assam Direct Recruitment Commission.

In view of the above, this writ petition stands disposed of by observing that as and when the process for direct
