02-12-2024 Heard Mr. A Sharma, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. B Sarma, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Assam for the State.

2. By this application under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023, the petitioner, namely, Ranjit Das, son of Mohan Chandra Das, resident of Chandmari Road, Bishnu Nagar, Majarati Nagaon, P.S.-Lanka, District-Nagaon, apprehending his arrest, is seeking pre-arrest bail in Lanka Police Station Case No. 74/2024 registered under Sections 120(B)/420/468/471 of IPC, corresponding to G.R. No. 943/2024.

3. The Court by order dated 18.07.2024 while calling for the case diary, granted interim bail to the petitioner in said Lanka Police Station Case No. 74/2024, which is in force till date. Pursuant to such interim bail, petitioner has also appeared before the concerned I.O. of the case.

4. As per the FIR of the case dated 29.02.2024 lodged by the District Commandant, Home Guards, Nagaon before the Officer-in-Charge of Hojai Police Station the case is that while scrutinizing the certificates of Home Guard Volunteers, the certificates of the FIR named Home Guards were found to be fake and duplicate and they on the basis of such fake and duplicate certificate
