Deuri, learned counsel for the applicants. Also heard Mr. D. Saikia, learned Advocate General, Assam, assisted by Ms. N. Bordoloi, learned standing counsel, Revenue Department and Mr. T.J. Mahanta, learned senior standing counsel, Gauhati High Court, assisted by Mr. P.P. Dutta, learned counsel.
By this interlocutory application, the applicants have prayed for impleading them as party respondents in the connected public interest litigation being PIL (Suo Moto) No.10/2018.
Having heard the learned counsels appearing for the parties and without expressing any opinion on merits, the applicants are permitted to be arrayed as party respondent Nos.91 to 124 in PIL (Suo Moto) No.10/2018.
Mr. K.N. Choudhury, learned senior counsel appearing for the applicants submitted that the respondent Government is likely to take some action and, therefore, status quo order be granted.
As the same entails individual rights, it would be open for the respective applicants to approach the learned Single Judge in appropriate proceedings. However, pendency of this PIL shall not affect the rights of each i
