Date : 26.11.2025 Heard Mr. H. Das, learned counsel for the petitioners.

Challenging the holding of meeting and the election of the President of the Gaon Panchayat of 11 No. Takimari Haguripara G.P. under Jaleswar Anchalik Panchayat in the District of Goalpara District, this writ petition is filed. The petitioners have prayed for allowing them to participate in the oath taking ceremony and selection of President and Vice President among the members of the said Gaon Panchayat.

Issue notice, returnable by 4 (four) weeks.

As Mr. J. Handique, learned Government Advocate for State respondent Nos. 2, 3 & 4, and Mr. A. K. Ghosh, learned Standing Counsel, Panchayat and Rural Development, for respondent Nos. 1 & 5, enter appearances and accept notices on behalf of their respective respondents, no formal notice is required to be issued to the said respondents. However, they shall be served with requisite extra-copies of the petition.

Learned counsel for the petitioners to take steps for service of notice upon respondent Nos. 6 to 10 by registered post with A/D as well as through usual process within 3 (three) working days from today.

Mr. J. Handique, learned State Counsel, to obtain instruction.

Subject to placing of the instruction by the State respondents, interim prayer shall be considered on the next date.
