ORDER

31.10.2025 Heard Mr. H. Ali, learned counsel for the petitioner.

The present writ petitioner was a candidate who had offered his candidature for selection and appointment to the post of Gaon Pradhan of Badani Akhiya under the Pub-Barkhetri Mouza in the District of Nalbari. However, in the select list published, the petitioner was not selected and the private respondent No.5 was appointed as a Gaon Pradhan. Being aggrieved the petitioner preferred an appeal before the authority and which came to be dismissed by the authority concerned. Being aggrieved the present writ petition has been filed.

Issue notice returnable within four weeks.

Ms. M. Kalita, learned Government Advocate appears for the respondent Nos. 3 and 4 and Ms. S. Dutta, learned Standing Counsel appears for the respondent No.1 and 2.

Since the respondents are duly represented, notices are waived. However, extra copies be furnished within a period of one week from today.

Steps on the respondent No. 5 shall be taken by Speed Post within a period of one week from today.

The appointment of the private respondent shall be subject to the outcome of the writ petition.
