Date : 13.02.2026 Heard Mr. A. R. Bhuyan, learned counsel for the petitioners.

By filing this writ petition, the petitioners, who claim to have been appointed as Assistant Teacher in Banglapara and Sonakhuli M.E. Schools in the year 1993 and 1994, respectively, have prayed for a direction to the respondent authorities to release their current as well as arrear salaries.

It is contended that after their appointment, the petitioners were posted to other schools, where they duly joined; however, after the initial payment of salary, no further salary was paid to them.

The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a similar issue was considered by this Court in WP(C) No. 3428/2021, dated 30.07.2021, wherein the claim for arrear and current salary was directed to be paid to the petitioner. Accordingly, he prays that similar relief may be granted to the present petitioners.

Issue notice, returnable by 4 (four) weeks.

As Mr. G. Pegu, learned Standing Counsel, Elementary Education Department for the respondent Nos. 1, 3 & 4 and Ms. A. Borthakur, learned Standing Counsel, Finance Department for the respondent No. 2, have entered appearance and accepted notice on behalf of the respondents, no formal notice need be issued to the said respondents. However, requisite extra-copies of the writ petition along with the documents appended thereto be furnished to them during the course of the day.

Steps for service of notice upon the respondent No. 5 be taken by speed post as well as by usual process within a week.
